Note: At present, connecting a dataset to your account will take a couple of working days.
To request a dataset be added to your Datahub/DSMLP account, you will need the DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of that dataset.
- Browse the Educational Dataset Service to find a machine-learning-ready dataset that interests you. (Click "View Collection Items" to see the available datasets.)
- Click on the dataset of interest.
- In "Cite This Work" you will see a URL containing the DOI. For example, in "Cite This Work" section of the dataset Cars Overhead with Context, you'll see the URL https://doi.org/10.6075/J0CN72BC
- Send email to Academic Technology Services that contains:
- A request to add a dataset to your Datahub/DSMLP account
- Your username
- The URL with the DOI
The Academic Technology Services team will see your ticket and connect that dataset to your account, then confirm to you.

Note: datasets can be large. Determine that you have enough space prior to downloading.
To download a dataset for analysis on your own machine:
- Browse the Educational Dataset Service to find a machine-learning-ready dataset that interests you. (Click "View Collection Items" to see the available datasets.)
- Click on the dataset of interest.
- In the orange box, you will see the first item in the collection (often a ReadMe file) with options to Download File or View File. You can download or view this item, and/or move to the next item with the arrows at the top of box. The ReadMe file often has useful information on the data contained in this dataset, its format, and how to use it.
- Each item's size will display so you can determine whether you have space to download.
If you run into problems or have questions, you can email the Library for assistance.
